Bank van Breda uses Smstools to make online banking safer. Customers logging in receive an extra code or one-time password (OTP) via SMS. This is the second step in two-factor authentication (2FA).
In addition to their username and password, customers must enter this code to gain access. This adds an extra layer of security that only works if the customer also has their phone.
It makes it much harder for criminals to access accounts. They would need both the password and the SMS code – which is nearly impossible without the customer’s phone.
